What is this

I pulled the seat and found this spring and bracket. They weren't hooked to anything. What are they for?
Thanks

Re: What is this

Is the spring the return spring for your seat? It assists in the seat sliding back when you are adjusting it.

I can't see the bracket, but my first guess would be the jack hold down bracket.

Re: What is this

It looked too long to be the jack hold down spring. But now I am guessing that's a 67, which would explain the long spring.

Re: What is this

I guess that would explain why they weren't attached to anything. I'm missing the jack.

Why does it being a 67 make a difference? I am in the dark.

Re: What is this

I am no expert, so I could very well be wrong, but I believe 1968 is the year the spring and bracket moved closer to the passenger door, and it was a much shorter spring.
