I don't think I've ever seen one that wasn't greaseable---but thanks for the p.n.

So is that the bolt on the NP 205 transfer case that holds the shifter in place?

Re: 205 shifter bolt upgrade FYI

Yes, the one and only. On one end is the knob and other end is a short 2 inch twisted rod. Originally these were not greaseable until the I suspect the early 80's.

Re: 205 shifter bolt upgrade FYI

The 4-speed adapter on '78 np205 has a larger bolt thread and doesn't have zert fitting. At least it is larger than the one on my '70 4-speed. Also the '70 has plastic bushings where the '78 does not. Wondering if it is because the '70 has a 292 engine? So which setup is part # for ? Thanks for info...Rick

If you call your local GM dealer AND get a good counter guy, he can still locate/get you that pivot bolt. Mel

$75 - OUCH. If it is discontinued I guess I better pick one up if I can find one. Looks like they have them here for $30.71

Still $43 for a bolt after shipping - ouch still!

Seems like something a guy with a drill press and a tap could make fairly easily.

Will this stop the transfer case lever from constantly vibrating while driving?

Re: 205 shifter bolt upgrade FYI

I just ordered one from a local GM dealer for $28.41. They have to order it in, but it beats not having one at all. Thanks for bumping this old thread!

Looks like I'll be calling the parts counter. Just got an email that my order couldn't be filled because the part had been discontinued.

tdkosta, did you ever come up with the needed t/c shifter bolt? I recently needed to dig a few of these up for a couple of other guys and have some extra setups available and ready to ship. The now discoed pivot bolt, the bushing/washer and the grease fitting were all sold separately by GM, I can sell you all three for $50. plus $6.00 for USPS priority shipping w/del. conf. anywhere lwr 48. Lmk, Mel.

Mel, As I prefer not to pay $84.00 for just the bolt from GM'S Discount Parts Warehouse, I would gladly send you $51.10 for all three parts. Please PM paypal info. Thanks. Mike.

Yes, I can take care of you on your request. Pm me an e-mail address and I will return the detailed invoice through paypal, please also include/confirm your ship to address unless you are 100% sure that the one paypal sends along w/payment confirmation is correct. Thanks, Mel.
