Guys if you are looking to buy or if you are bidding on any speed warning clusters on ebay here are some things to look out for. I bought one a few weeks ago and the brass pin had been cut out of the dash. There is one on ebay now that does not have a pin in it. Also the circuit board on the one that I bought read K413 72 (72=1972) would be the year it was made. Most of you know this but for those of you who do not know speed warnings were made for these trucks 67,68 and some 69 but were more common in 67,68. Not to say the circuit board could not have been changed out but if it were original it more than likely would read 66,67,68 or 69. 66 because most of your 67's were produced and stamped in 1966. I will show you a pic of the one I bought and the seller I think clearly did not have a clue after a phone conversation with him but still I am posting this to save you guys from buying a 250-350 dollar dash that you cannot use. I will post a pic of mine and a link to the one on ebay. If the link does not work here is the item #330524940075. The one on ebay now if it does have a pin I can not clearly see it so if you are currently bidding on this dash I would ask the seller if he could send me a better pic. Your guess is as good as mine guys. I just thought I would share this with all of the board members. I have fooled with these cluster for 20 yrs. and bid on the dash I bought on the fly and did not look at it as carefully as I should have. I was on ebay today and saw this one and said ok this is not cool. Just did not want to see a fellow member make a mistake and purchase a high dollar dash that he could not use.

it looks like the speedo was replaced as the color is new looking on thre speedo and faded out on the gas gauge

It appears that the one you linked on ebay Does Not have the brass pin. Thanks for the tip. I was just talking to a guy here locally about these. He has one but has 4 guys ahead of me on it.

Good advice PT. That is the first thing i look for also. I see the e-bay one is missing the ground strap on back of the speedo also...

The pin is no longer availible. You could wire direct if you wanted though. It also has screws put through the printed circuit where they are not supposed to be. WES

I am not "up to speed" on these either.
What exactly does the brass pin do?
Is it for the buzzer?

yes the post is for the buzzer wire. It pushes on to lock on that pin. Jim

I emailed this guy at the beginning and told him it was missing the post-he said I was right and he must have over looked it-says he got it from his brother or something and was unaware. I noticed he didn't update his ad or inform potiental buyers......Steve

It really irks me when I inform sellers of an issue...and they thank me and then don't change the posting. I'd rather them just ignore me than admit it is an issue and then still continue an auction you now know they are lying about...

I have successfully had one auction removed by ebay when the part was listed wrong. think it was a van tilt that was up to like 350....

You can add a speed warning speedo to your dash and make a pin or just straight wire it and make it work. If you want a factory legit look then you will need the factory rear tin with the insulated brass pin. I have seen them rigged up to work without the pin. It is really just what you prefer.

oh ok thanks pt i want to add one to mine for some odd reason i dont know if i would even want it to work.... i probably would because it would be a waste just to sit there and not do anything...

So, PT...how do you add these in cases like the new repro dash you just did? Do you have a supply of the brass pins or use another speedwarning dash and scavenge the parts for the new one.

....and I guess it's no point adding "speed warning" to my ebay daily notifications since you'll buy them anyways, huh

VA72C10 the one that I just finished for Shawn (67 Chevy heaven) I had a 67 Impala speed warning for parts and it had a good pin in it and that is how I made is look as if it was factory. I do not buy them up by the way but if I see a good deal as anyone would I try and get it

. I bought the one just a few weeks ago because Shawn asked me to be on the look out for one and he gave me a price range so I bought for him.
