I got a call from my landlord around 12 today, stating that the shop door was left open. I figured a friend was in there borrowing some tools. Which was more than fine by me and he just forgot to close it. Went down after work to pickup some parts to ship out. Found that my 65 GMC was gone, along with a couple grand worth of parts.

Kansas guys, please keep an eye out for my 65, i'm going to be checking the shriners swapmeet soon to see if any parts show up.

1965 SWB GMC Flat Black
396ci BBC / 4 Speed Super T-10
Holley Valvecovers
Edelbrock Torker 2-0 Intake
Chrome aircleaner with "350ci 350hp" decal

Identifying:
Dent by the drivers rocker.
Silver painted GMC Grille.

I also had to send out $295 in refunds to buyers on ebay due to this stupid sh!t. Luckily enough the shop was insured @ $19,000. That still wont replace the truck i've had since 16 and spent numerous years working on and fine tuning.

The amazing thing is, they didnt touch my 69 at all or all of the brand new parts for it.

The police said that it just seemed that they stole what would run and filled it up with what they could fit in the bed.

I hate when people that work for what they have get some ... can't say what I would like but it just is wrong. At least you had insuranceand will get something for your loss me on the otherhand had a friend leave state with my new quad that I'm still paying for. Sorry for your loss.

That sucks, I will keep an eye open over here around Topeka.
Check the salvage yards also, I have a brother in KC and he heard that thieves are steeling older cars and trucks and selling them to the recyclers because of the high price of steel.

The only pictures I have of it are nearly a year old, and of it after all of the bodywork was done and it was in its current flat black state. The only difference is it had 6lug vette ralleys on it when I last saw it a week ago. God only knows what kind of wheels are on it now.

I was thinking the same thing. Damn thieves! I've never had a whole truck taken(knocks on wood), but I've had several broken into..

The problem is our older trucks are so easy to take a third grader could do it... I won't leave mine parked anywhere alone at night because of this...Pretty obvious if somebody starts it outside my house..(LOUD!!)

It would either be bored kids, who got off easy in the past, or illegals, making some $$$. I'd bet money it was something that wouldn't have happened if the legal system had done in the past.

In many states, illegals are over a third of the prison population, and concidering how hard it is to find people with fake names and no public records, they are responsible for a lot more crime than is publicly stated. As far as the legal system, too many places are not serious about cracking down on first time offenders, second time offenders.... The number of vehicles taken by bored kids to thrash and dump is pretty high.

Nothing so far. I've only lived in the midwest for the past 8 months. Didnt know this area was this ****ty. The police have said that the odds are against getting it back now, since 24 hours has passed. Chances are that the truck has been split up into a million pieces and the frame and all parts to ID it gone in many different directions. I still have my hopes up though. I'll wakeup tomorrow and this will all be a dream.

I have never thought about it much until now, but the moron who stole it most likely doesn't know anything about this board. If everyone keeps their eyes open and checks classified adds, swap meets, etc. Someone may find it. If there are any unique, easy to identify parts, it would be nice to have a discription to give everyone an idea what to look for. Good Luck.
