What is the difference between seats out of a 73' vs our 69-72' seats?

so i was planning to have them custom re-upolstered, that post didnt say anything about mounting. but one looks a little wider than the other?

Your correct, the 73 and up are wider and will not 'directly' bolt in, close but won't work.

so i will be getting my 73 seats on wedsday, not sure if they have the plastic backs for them, i will be getting the professionally re-upholstered can they do them without the plastic backs on them?
