Gear Indicator Light Filter (or other options)

The bulb in the gear indicator on my column is blinding me.
Are the filters they had from factory available?
If not any other suggestions? It's pretty blinding at night.

Re: Gear Indicator Light Filter (or other options)

Mine has a small metal cover which sits over the bulb and a tiny hole on one side designed to let just enough light out to iluminate the gear selector window but not blind the driver.
I saw somewhere that some trucks had a small green plastic sleeve over the bulb to defuse the light also.

Re: Gear Indicator Light Filter (or other options)

The originals I've seen had both the metal cap and a green tinted vinyl plastic cover/filter over the top of the cap. I could use a couple of the filters if anyone has a source. Otherwise a bit of green bulb dye or nail polish should at least provide the correct color.
