Any Photos Of C-4 Being Put In C-10

Good Morning Everyone, I am trying to find some threads of someone that has put a C-4 Corvette suspension a 67-72 C-10 Truck. I am wanting to use the factory C-4 front cross member. I have looked and looked for someone that has done this and has some good photos and measurements of how they did theirs but cannot find any threads. Can someone lead me in the right direction! Thanks in Advance for any help!!!

I'm no help, but when I read the title I thought you were trying to put a Ford transmission in your truck.....

Re: Any Photos Of C-4 Being Put In C-10

I have the same plans. I have the complete front and rear suspension from a c4 corvette that I am going to install next winter. I ended up purchasing the front suspension cross member from Flat out engineering. All the front suspension bolts onto it once it is welded into the frame. For the rear I plan on using the rear frame rail kit from no limit engineering. That frame rail kit will convert the spare long box frame I have into a short box and also raise the rear frame rails up about 4 inches. That will give me more room for the rear suspension mounting.

Re: Any Photos Of C-4 Being Put In C-10

Just another thing to add. I did see some pictures on the forum from a local shop that installed this front cross member. If I remember correctly I think it was called California custom hot rods in Aldergrove BC. I went out there to take a look at it. Looked good, they did some nice work.

Flat Out Engineering in Orange California has the pieces you need for transplanting a C4 front suspension into a C10. They also have the pieces for the rear.

Re: Any Photos Of C-4 Being Put In C-10

Here is an OLD thread from Porterbuilt. I do not think he is making them any more, but he might be a goo resource.:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=255981

I know there was a guy in Texas that did a '64-'66 truck with one, but I can't find his build thread right now. If I do, I will post it up. The frames are the same where the front suspension would mount and the rear needs to be something custom...
Here is the '66 I was thinking of:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=284880

here is another for the rear from PBFab:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=203958

Another C4 in the front of an '83:

Hope those help...

Re: Any Photos Of C-4 Being Put In C-10

There was a build thread of someone putting a 67-72 on a C5 chassis, torque tube and all. It was a pretty wild build. I'll poke around and see if I can find it

Re: Any Photos Of C-4 Being Put In C-10

Thanks to everyone that replied to my not so good though out question. I will make sure that I read all of the post to get all the help and measurements I might need. I have installed a c-4 (corvette) front and rear suspension on a 1958 Corvette frame last summer and made all of the brackets for the rear end and also cut and used the factory front c-4 (corvette) cross member on it and the 58 sits good and handles great. I started my mock up of the corvette rear on the truck frame today b-4 I got home and read the replies. I am going to have to cut up into the frame to let the bat wing go up in it to get the ride height I want so these photos is not where it will set when finished. I would and will post some photos as soon as I learn how!! I am going to try!!

Re: Any Photos Of C-4 Being Put In C-10

Another idea I had was to remove the batt wing/cover assembly from the diff. Then get the guys at work to burn a 3/4 or 1 inch plate steel the same shape and bolt pattern as the batt wing but with a narrower batt wing so it would fit on the inside of the frame to mount it. Then just use a tin diff cover to bolt to that to seal it up.

Re: Any Photos Of C-4 Being Put In C-10

Thats a pretty good ideal. I would like to see it if you get one cut out. It would not be that hard if a person had a CNC machine but I don't. I am going to use a piece of 6" channel and,cut it the width of the frame and put it up in the frame then plate it on both sides, something on the line of putting a C notch in the frame for the half shafts but wider and taller and then the bat wing bracket will go up in that, also this will let the ball joint on the rear end not hit the frame. Got in my head and am going to try and get it made and tacked up today!!

Re: Any Photos Of C-4 Being Put In C-10

I've been on the phone with flat out engineering. They do not have a rear kit for our year of trucks. They said its in the works but couldn't give me a date as to when it would be available.
