What's needed to swap to a 327?

Just doing some research... Was by a welding shop the other day in my '64 Vette and fella tells me he's got a 327 like mine that he'd sell. Anyway got me thinking that it might be cool to have the same motors in both my car and truck. Currently I've got a 292 with sm465 behind it. I still have the original passenger side motor mount bracket as my truck was originally a base 250. If I'm correct the 327 should bolt in using that one?
What all's needed? Thanks

you win the prize. that is what you need and there is always someone looking for that 292 perch. there are there incidentals such as hoses and exhaust. rad mounting is different between i6 and v8. throttle bellcrank on the firewall will be a different length. the ball stud for the z/bar is different but may be on the eng .

it will make a difference if you are going to run a shroud. believe that the i6 mounts lower on that front c/member and the v8 mounts up on top.

I believe most if not all 292's had the larger radiator typical for a V8. So you may not need to change the radiator. If you post a pic we can tell you for certain.

Truck came with out motor and trans but was a stripper base model. Would have had a 250 so likely I would have the radiator that came with.

How bad IS the knock on the 292? Lot of times that Knock is mistaken for noisy lifters in the morning. I put almost 1500 miles of Hard driving on my 50 year old 292 before it really started misfiring bad. lol Still...it Wouldn't give in.

b/housing, flywheel and clutch assy are all interchangeable. some 292 flywheels have larger flywheel mounting bolts

I have all the parts you will need for that swap. Talk to me about it next time you see me, or just let me know when you will be working in your shop and I will stop by.

Thanks a bunch.. problem is I'm not sure how long my 292 is going to keep going (got a bit of a knock.) and I can't trust that the 327 is anymore than a core...
Think I'll need to find a running 6 to toss in for the time being and then if I buy the 327 I'll go through it and collect the needed bits. If you know of a good six anywhere I'm ready to buy. Can't afford to have the truck down for more than a couple weekends.

Can't say that I do. I only have V8's. One in my truck now and one waiting to be put in while I rebuild the 283 in my truck.
