Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
With a little enginuity, you can make almost any bucket seat fit. You may have to fabricate mounting brackets, but the sky is the limit.

Yeah just find a set you like and go for it. It took me a couple days but I got mine in with a little effort and a pack of cigarettes.

Dennis, I've met a number of people from your neck of the woods before.........wonderful folks. They all laugh when I ask about the wooden shoes. Hey not my fault, It showed them in the text book I learned from in school.

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
99 to 04 silverado seats work nice and the center councel is a seat, armrest and a storage unit and cup holder. Good luck with your seats.

I agree with JRB, I have a set in my truck and love em. Plus you get intergrated seatbelts.

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
Could you please post some pics with the type discription of the seats
I need a few ideas for my truck. About those wooden shoes Bubba4spd. I know it's just kind of a trading symbol from my country, It's right up there together with the windmills the cheese and the tulips.

Is that flat black for the interior? I am going with the flat black and maybe flames on the 90 454 SS, the 67 SWB, and the 72 Blazer. I dig it! |

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
These are out of a late 80's (87) four door chevy nova. Curve of the seat fits real well with the gas tank and have a manual lumbar and drivers side height adjustment. Really inexpensive in a yunkyard cause when you say you want front seats out of a four door nova they just smile and think your crazy!! only thing is to mount them I had to get some seat brackets bent for the height I wanted when installed

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
Or how about some late 80's Acura seats (legend I think) . These fit almost as well as Nova buckets and are also a low back bucket. These are probably a little more comfortable than nova buckets as the seem to have a little more cushion. Still need the brackets made though!

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
My dad has a 2001 GMC with those same seats and I think there great. Comfortable and that center consle is nice for putting CD's and other stuff. My moms 2005 Yukon has really nice heated leather buckets. Power everything and the lumbar and the seats will make it a very nice ride. Both those seats have intergrated seat belts and I would reccommened either seat for you.

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
Mine our out of an '01 silverdo and I love them. I have some back issues and I drove my truck to a show 5 hours away and couldn't have been more comfortable, plus as stated before they have integrated seat belts which is handy.

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
How much fabrication is needed to fit 99-up seats in these trucks? I love the heated power leather seats in my 05 and will miss them when I sell it soon to get a 67-72.

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
My installation was very easy, although I have the extra cab length. Basically with mine it was just drillling new holes and bolting the seats in. Yukon Jack installed a set in his regular cab truck and found that they where awfully close to the pedal assemblies when complete. He did modify something though to make it a bit more comfortable. I PM'd him before installing mine and he was a wealth of information.

These are my favorites. Easy install and real good fit. They are headed for my 71 SWB.

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
does anyone know how seats from an Astro van would work in our trucks? They should be an easy install. Has anyone tried it?

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
68stepbed- Astro van bucket seats fit perfectly, its just a matter of drilling some holes in the floor. I have a set of them in my truck right now but I want to replace them with a bench so my girlfriend has a place to sit and because its more practical. By the way, I think your truck is beautiful and I hope mine looks like it someday.

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
The seats fit in the cab with the tank very nice and you only have to shim up one corner when mounting. They are thicker than stock and since Im thicker than I used to be I moved the steering column in by collasping the steering shaft to gain a little extra room. I love the seats and have plenty of room.

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
These came out of a 98 tahoe, all you should have to do is drill a couple of holes and that is it. I got these at a junk yard for $200 with console. I will post some pics when I get it back from interior. |

Re: bucket seats what kind would fit??
i put in some acura seats, looks good, but now i am looking for a bench to install. my only advice, is to take your time on the brackets, i did it to fast the first time, and spent twice the time i should have remaking them
