Rallye wheel lug nuts
Okay, I found a great set of 4x4 rallyes this weekend, cleaned and painted them and had my tires mounted yesterday. They didn't have beauty rings or lug nuts (but did have the metal center caps) so I used my regular lug nuts on them. The studs seem short and I was wondering if rallyes use a special lug nut like some custom aluminium rims (smaller shaft and larger head)?
I tightened them down and they seem to be holding fine, but I just wanted to check and see if any of you could give me a clear answer......safety first, especially when my kids ride with me everyday. ** Yes, I will post some photos once I get the beauty rings I am looking for (any advice on where to find them for 15x8 rims at a good price? I have been looking at Summit Racing (one near me in ATL) and they are around $25 each). Thanks, Mac |

I got my trim rings from a 90's something S-10. There are a few different styles of trim rings, make sure you are getting the ones you want. |

Re: Rallye wheel lug nuts
A general rule for any nut, lug or otherwise, is that there should be at least one complete thread showing past the nut.
That's the FAAs stance on aircraft repair and I think it's a good idea for anything.
