Side mirror dimension question????

I know that the measurement from door edge to side mirrors are different for passenger and drivers. Why is that?

My guess is the fact that the small mirrors are limited as to the extent you can angle them, so they have to be mounted where they can be angled for proper viewing.

I can only speak for myself but I installed the mirrors and checked the pasenger side for different locations, it simply is useless. It doesn't rotate enough to be useful. I installed them in the same location after checking what appeared to be a few stock trucks and applied a stick on convex mirror to it.

Here's the thing, I didn't like how it looks but I NEED a mirror on that side and wasn't willing to change the style. I went to all my local "custom" glass shops and none of them could find or make a convex replacement for the orignal mirror. I told them I wasn't concerned about cost and still no luck......If anyone has a replacement convex piece of glass I would love to have one!
