Project wounded warrior: My build thread
Hi everyone, meet project Wounded Warrior. I posted this build a few days ago in the wrong thread category. I haven't heard back from a moderator so I'm now posting in the build forum. I'm about to be at a point where I could use some advice with photos or ideas on emergency brake cable routing for my bare brakes. What is the best long tube header for the LQ460 motors with the 4L80 trans? I want to get this project done 4 months start to finish, worst case 5 months with working all the bugs out. I ordered all the parts before I even started, because we all know how long it takes to get some of these parts (IE PORTER BUILT) lol. I'm 7 weeks in, going on my 8th week. Tell me what ya think, I'll take any feedback. This is the first build I've ever done on my own start to finish--frame off resto-mod build I'm planing on doing the power tour and 2 or 3 good guys events this year Parts: 1972 chevy 10 lab cut down to make it a swb lq4 6.0 built to the hill and back 532hp spec and dyne sheet to come 4l80 built with stall no limit tank Porterbuilt drop member/pro touring Accuair 12 bolt eaton/373 Baer brakes 14inch 6 piston front and rear lokar shifter 1970 grill Boze 20 inch by 8.5 fronts 4.75 backspacing Boze 20 inch by 10 rears 5.5 backspacing michelin pilot sports 265/35/20 fronts michelin pilot sports 305/30/20 rears complete new short box oakwood bed dakota digital vintage air power everything push button start pioneer 8 inch dvd nav bucket low backs 4 core rad 15.5 budnik steering wheel ididit steering wheel smootie bumper i'm going to put air ducts into to cool the front brakes side exhaust roll pan Also I would like to have a drawing of it done? any ideas? I want it to look like the black c10 with the cooling ducts in the bumper. from the Porterbuilt web site it's sick. |

Re: Project wounded warrior
Most of these are me cutting the frame in half. Gears TV Stacey Davids show gave me a lot of good video to watch.

What are the wheels you are running? My dad and I are still trying to figure that out for ours.

Re: Project wounded warrior
Excellent work!
Folks may confuse your trucks name with the Vet charity, as I did.

Re: Project wounded warrior
thanks guys,
I was trying to figure out y I wasn't get that much of a response but know I get it. I'm a vet who was injured, and looking at how bad this truck really was once I got it blasted it. It reminded of wounds that had been patched. If anyone has good pics of brake lines, baer emergency brake cable routing I could sure use some ideas. |
