Re: who has the best axle conversion kit?

1970 is the ONLY differential that is the same width as the 71-2. The 70 has 6lug axles, but will take 5lug axles as a direct bolt in. Always measure to be sure, but I am doing one right now.
Although I sell new 5-lug axles for $99 ea, I am actually putting in good used ones because they are here in a broken rearend and want to use them.
You don't need any special "changeover" kit. Save yourself some bucks and just put in good 5-lug axles with new seals & gaskets.

Re: who has the best axle conversion kit?

Halfway thru the 70 model year GM started using wider rears, from 71 to sometime in the 80's the axles interchange. You just have to measure and make sure your rear is the wider.
