rim size
I just bought a frame from someone who started a frame off rebuild but didnt finish. He said the front end was from a 83 and he added the 2 1/2" drop spindles, but my 15" 5 lug steel rims rub the disc brakes as well as the lower A arms. we had to put washers behind the rims just to get it to roll on to the trailer. I guess I could go with 16" rims but it does seem like a lot of people on here use 15" rims with no problems. also the rotors are only 1" which worries me some that this could be a problem down the road. Anyone have any thoughts?

Re: rim size
You have the wrong 15" rims... the truck "rally" type wheels were 15s, so you definately have the wrong wheels/offset. The 1" thick rotors are the light duty rotors and they were more common in 80 and later 1/2 ton trucks... best to change them to 1 1/4s IMO.

Re: rim size
your disk brake rotors are light half ton. To change them you will need new drop spindles, rotors, bearings and brakes - none of the existing parts will interchange.

Re: rim size
I agree with with Jon, sounds like an offset problem. I am on 3" coils and 2.5 drop spindles with 6 lug discs and stock wheels with no trouble.
