ford 9" rear
I have the opportunity to get a for 9" rear out of an older full size ford van. I'm not sure of the rear gear yet, but it's nice.
Now the question. Should I do the swap into the 71? Those who have done this, what has been the bad and good? If I don't do the swap, who wants to buy this rear? |

Re: ford 9" rear
some of those van rears are really wide and some years have a severe offset // in both cases you'd need to have the rear cut down and new axels made because alot of the ford axels cant be cut and resplined// they also have a very high pinion angle so you need to rotate the ends whille they/\'re being welded to have the brake cylinder at the 12oclock position also must fill the vent and reposition that too// so unless it's a posi or locker with a loratio it's just about worthless
