motor swap
I am trying to get started on my 3/4 ton 4x4. I had a interesting though passed buy me the other day. Swap in a duramax diesel with a allison tranny. I know it is not a numbers match idea but that is not a problem with me. any body know of any info on these motor trannys that could help me? secondary thought is to put the burb body on a chassis that all ready has a duramax and 4x4. all info welcome

They are very heavy and very expensive.
A member who lives in austrailia (I think) has done something like this, but with older parts. |

buy a wrecked one and go from there. I dont think the swap would be much harder than a lt1 kinda deal

LT-1 swap is a good comparison.
Computer, harnesses, fuel system, possable guages, sensors out the 9 inch, ect. |

What about putting the burb body a 2001 chassis with a durmax deisel in it. Wheelbase would have to be shortened some and custom mounts made.

I can't help with your idea, but I think it's damn cool. I'd buy the entire drivetrain/frame, and swap the body shell over if it were me.
