Rat Rod?

Well I have always liked the suede or rat rod look. As a matter of fact I like plain primer grey... I'm considering going with the rat rod look. it's not far off what I have now... I will paint it black suede with paint not just primer. What do you think?

Color is such a personal thing. Do what is your favorite. Personally, I prefer a shiny, non-orange peel finish.

Looks familiar.
I'm actually thinking of doing this on the Longhorn for a while, once I sell the GMC, I'll have the cash for real paint, but I've been havin so much fun with this one, I may just do it again.
I have to say, I don't think I'll go with Mr Horse power again though...too many ppl think it is woody woodpecker.

Yeah I saw that when you did it Andy. I will probaly use the "roadrunner" as my friends call it just to match the door panels I did.

Woody Woodpecker? That's funny as h...! Not laughing at you Longhorn Man, just the comments that you've got about Mr. Horsepower.

On a serious note... Rat Rods rock! Love those old school rods.

2low72, that's one "bad" GMC! Nice stance.

Mr horsepower is the logo for Clay Smith Cams, also close to the Thrush logo in Sweet72's avatar. Also the tattoo on Nicholas Cage and Randall Tex Cobb in the movie Raising Arizona

I love rat rods too. It's a trend that is gaining momentum in the classic world. What other decals could put on with the exception of Rat Fink, Road Runner, Mr Horsepower or the Mooneyes?

I am probably in the minority here, but I just don't understand the flat black look. Yes the neon colors were getting too much but flat black just looks un-finished. But everyone's taste differs, if that is what you like go for it!

With that being said, my 67 long step is about to be painted and will be bright red!

Any recommendations for a nice bright red?

Primer shows you care! I'm a biiiig fan of primer, but only if it's done right. I'd throw some flames on there too.
