Re: super duper show truck...

The tail light are even on the fenders .... not like the normal ones.

Where else are the tail lights mounted on step side trucks?!?!

I see this sort of thing all the time on Craigslist. I'm allmost positive some of these trucks must have gold in them or something!!

x2. It's best to know the facts before criticizing. There wouldn't be much gold in it at $3,000. The truck had nice paint, custom tail lights,Custom wheels, and a 327 put in with dress up items, like finned aluminum valve covers that go with the wheels. I don't see the seller charging a dime for the fact this truck is a time capsule of period touches from the '70s.
I'm not singling out and just want to point out what pack mentality can do. Just hop on the negative comment band wagon mindlessly, rather than stand aside and see something for what it really is...not a bad deal for an example of the type of truck this board is all about.

Kirsti Alley *is* a hottie.... but maybe that's a generational thing.

We should try not to overly critical of trucks for sale like that... if someone on here started a build thread with that in the first post we would be all over it with compliments about a great peice to start with.

Not everyone can have a $70,000 profeshionaly built truck. Instead of being ready to bash, we should take a complementary attitude. Sheesh.. I wish mine had been that solid when I started!

Re: super duper show truck...

Well everybody's got a different vision of what a show truck is (or was). His price isn't so far outta the ballpark, in fact its alot better than many listings I'm sure we've all seen. Seems like everyone on CL nowadays has Barrett-Jackson fever but with some cleaning and some good ole american elbow grease this truck probably wouldnt be half bad. With that said, I'd pass for 3k

I guess it depends on your definition of what "Hottie" is.

Re: super duper show truck...

That's my point...just because something was spectacular in 1989 doesn't mean you want it now!

It is a 42 year old truck now. At one point in it's life, it may very well have been a show truck.

Guys...we must remember not all people are versed on values of these trucks. Some people start high while others might price a truck low. Be that as it may be...Lets give the seller the beneft of the doubt. Either way lets take the high road.

Re: super duper show truck...

I would have loved to have started out with that truck.
As it is I have spent close to $1000 to get my truck to the point where that truck is now.
