Need Help picking out a paint color

Well the plan was/is to sell this truck for a profit. I have started to have this hing really grow on me and will have a hard time letting this one go. My problem is I Like flashy trucks, But if it comes down to it and I have to sell Then I want to have my market be there. I dont want it so flashy that it will turn off potential buyers.

I have no idea what color i want to paint and am open to all suggestions. I want to stay away from red Since my tacoma and Blazer are both painted the same color red.

I want it to be something that makes everyone turn to catch a look at it, just like my blazer.

In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a nice shiney coat of white on these trucks. I guess its not flashy, but it always gets my attention on an older vehicle.

EDIT - Keep in mind it would need some chrome bumpers to set it off. just my $0.02

Whatever the factory color is I generally would choose. Atleast I like my red-orange. Your choice in the end of course

Hard to go wrong with a nice orange or redish orange.

I already got a cherry Chrome bumper for it, Even had the original bumper guards on it (that are being ditched) I have the polished grille trim and headlight buckets too. I will be installing sport mirrors too.

Re: Need Help picking out a paint color

Nothing wrong with resale red if your gonna get rid of it, but you stated you don't want red. Beleive it or not, the two best selling colors are black and silver. How straight is the body? If you don't think it would be a good candidate for black, go with silver. Original colors would be best for resale. White does look nice on the 67-68 trucks, but it doesn't sell well. Many buyers overlook white vehicles because white hides so much. They tend to be scared of them.

As you stated, you like flashy colors. Some flashy colors just don't sell well. Stay away from bright oranges, yellows and loud blues and loud greens. As I said above, original colors are best.

Id have to agree with him. For resale purposes dont go wild on it. I personally tend to like non-factory paint and a more custom look, but the majority of people want something that is factory correct, maybe figure out what a "rare" color for that modle year was and go with that. Rare factory colors are usually popular.

Re: Need Help picking out a paint color

eletric blue is flashy.

to be different a nice base clear metallic tan/brown/bronze ish color would make me snap my neck, especially with the chrome.

This sounds like some real good advice , black is always a good choice but it does need really strait sheet metal now silver sounds like it would be almost as forgiving as white but would not show dirt like black or the white, I have a 72 but I don't remember if that was a color offered that year.
