Re: Insurance for Daily driver with no other vehicle
Frustrating to say the least. My current rates have doubled over the last 5 years. Insurance company states its due to the influx of people in this state. I am calling b.s. I am a good driver with one ticket, and no accidents in over 7 years.
There is a thread by a fellow member Andy with some options. I know I will be looking at it again. |

I ran into the same problem, I got denied by 4 or the big insurance companies but I just talked to State Farm and they seem pretty chill. I just have to take my truck down and they will take photos of it etc.

I have Allstate, pay only $65 a month for full coverage, even after two claims, one for hail damage and a second after I hit a deer. They paid $7500 for the deer claim, they even paid my deductible after they couldn’t find a appraiser in my area to value my truck in a timely fashion. They’ve never raised my rates, I have had a total of six claims on different vehicles with them, my rates have actually come down over the years.

State Farm may be chill, but after one accident where I got T-boned by a Plymouth Fury, the service and stingy coverage payout was so horrible that I dropped THEM. That was over 30 years ago and I still don't miss them. Maybe they are better now, and maybe it was just my local agent (that's a human that used to sit in a building and talk with you in person when you had an accident, I'm not sure they aren't extinct). |

Re: Insurance for Daily driver with no other vehicle
My daily is a '65 Chevy Bel Air. I have an agreed upon full coverage policy with Safeco. Hit a deer this past November, and had no problems getting it taken care of, other that watching the guys head explode at Service King (Safeco's 'approved' shop in my area) when he had to manually figure up the estimate to fix a 53 year old car that wasn't in his system!
