Bench seat covers with plaid inserts??

Folks,

I checked out a 1971 Chevy truck for sale that was medium red with a black trim (door inserts, dash pad, and base seat) interior. The glovebox panel said a "parchment" OEM trim was what the truck had, which I take to be an off-white or beige. It did appear that the door inserts were painted over.

At any rate, the seat was black vinyl with a red/yellow/white cloth PLAID insert. I've never seen this before, which the owner claimed was original (or correct for original)...

The seat, while in excellent condition, did seem pretty old.

Ever seen this before?

Scott

I've seen that pattern in a newer ('73-'81) but, not in that color combination.
Seems to me that the interior has been changed and/or painted to the black.

10-4, first original 4x4 body I've run across in awhile. It's a very decent truck. Needs just a little work on the body (cab supports, tiny hole in rear cab) and some minor mechanical (power steering box, harmonic balancer) ans it would be a sweet truck.

Parchment is off-white.That plaid looks like it could be a later GM truck pattern. It could be anything found in an upholsterer`s catalog. It`s definatly not an original material to these trucks.I`d watch what else the guy claims to know.
