buy/sell...keeping it in the family

To date, I had sold a truck on here to a board member, and bought one (kinda) from another board member, and I love it. I like the fact that if ChevyE finds something that he doesn't understand or want's to know why the hell I would do that...all he has to do is PM me. (Kinda suprised he hasn't...although i tried being as honest as possible with him from the get go)
So this got me wondering....
who all have bought/sold trucks on www.67-72chevytrucks.com , and would you do it again....as in were you happy with the outcome. Lets not talk about gutted out parts trucks, just drivers or trucks intended to become drivers....if we include junk trucks then that would kinda dilute the outcome of the poll IMO.

I bought my truck from Matt67350 and I've been very happy with it. I also made a good friend in the process. I'd do it again.

Two to date...bought my '67 stepside from CARS4567 and sold my '68 1t. CST flatbed to oldiron. I am really pleased with both transactions but would still like to have "MY" flatbed back...that was one sweet low mileage truck! I don't think I will ever see as nice of an unmolested stock interior with buckets as that one!

I am going to buy a nice truck to restore hopefully off of/with the help of a board member (want to buy from southwestern US) in the near future, so I hope most people on here are honest. So far I have only bought parts off members, but the experience has been excellent thus far. I will never buy off E-gay as countless friends have been ripped off, and while I know that can happen here too, I have not yet had any problems. Has anyone not been happy with a whole truck purchase on here?

Notice stlookin didn't mention the 72 Chev he sold to me. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. That must not have been one of the good deals
I have bought several trucks from board member and sold several trucks to board members. All is good. One just went to California. Sure hope the truck makes it OK
Note: I was a little pissed when one was promised to me and then sold to a friend/neighbor the next day, but some people can't control themselves and get too many deals going at once.

Good post Andy. If in fact I did ever end up selling my truck I would go out of my way to sell it to a board member before anywhere else if possible.

I sold my short bed 4X4 71 GMC to a board member, and wish I had it back every day. Maybe when the snow melts I'll take a drive to Louisiana to get it back.

<edit> Oh yeah, I sold an '88 Formula 350 Firebird to another board member.

Board Buys

I've only had one trans-action (truck sale) that wasn't really represented all that well but I still would rather deal with board members than any others.
The other deals have all been super and meeting board members in the process is a cool bonus.

Lets see, I sold the famous Tx Firefighter green stepside to board member, think his name is Browndog.

I bought my 72 dually from Matt67350, who bought it from Smonty.

I bought the running gear and chassis for my dually from teeitup.

I have bought and sold countless deals on this board. Probably better than 75 or 100 deals one way or the other. Never a bad deal yet. (There is currently a pending deal that is worrying me though).

traded a motor for a 68 swb C10.. Awesome deal from KevHill85.. Have gotten numerous parts from other members like BigBlockBurris and N2Trux... Wish I had found this site before I found eBay and travelled all the way to Delaware for a panel truck...yikes!!!

Let's see...

Bought my truck from Bill in KY.

Bought my coil spring frame from Huck.

Sold my leaf spring frame to NPilot(board name is something like that)

Bought a 4-bolt 350 from Andy.

Bought vortec heads, intake, k&n filter, and headers from Glen in AZ.

I think that's all of the buying/selling I've done through the board. My truck is definitely grateful. I can't wait to get everything together. Nothing better than buying and selling with board members... well, except for the Ohio board meet, but that's a given.

I bought my GMC about 2 years ago off of ebay from a fellow from MN named Merle Benes. Its a unique name so its stuck with me. Any chance he is a board member here? Anyone in MN know him? He has sold a couple other 67-72's on ebay.

you were very honest andy and i knew what i was getting. i like that. it`s better than driving all that way and getting something other than you expected (done that a few times). i`ve had one experience on here that p`d me off a bit though, i bought a truck (sent down payment and all, via paypal) then the guy backed out on the sale. he did send me my money back and was very nice about it, but i sure was looking forward to getting a good 4wd though . other than thet all is good.

I'm glad you are happy with the old turd. (can I call your truck that?) I was concerned that you'd find something that I forgot to mention or something like that...I'm sure there was a few things that slipped my mind.
Where are you at with it anyways?

I've bought atleast 10 running trucks from members and sold whoknows how many. I've been real happy with their descriptions of what I bought from them and I try to describe and tell the guys buying from me what they are getting. Treat people the way you want to be treated is what I always say!!!

I sold my first 4x4 to a friend/board member. Whenever anything breaks or goes wrong, i'm the first to know. I guess thats not too bad, after all he did pay for half of my blazer.
