Actual miles on your truck
What are you guys packin for real, total miles, on your truck/chassis, not last motor/rebuilds.
TOTAL MILES. My truck is at 314K. The family had a 70 that hit 300k also, a 68 ramp truck that rolled 300k and a 72 ramp truck that I believe only hit high 100k. |

Re: Actual miles on your truck
150,000 +/- 20,000.
While on the farm, it showed 81,xxx for years. Something to do with the middle of the speedo drive cable not being connected to the ends.... About the time I replaced the cable, I went from a 4.57 rear to 3.54. The reducer on the trans stayed in place, so I've been showing about 7.8 miles for every 10 driven since 1994.

Re: Actual miles on your truck
No clue how many actual miles are on my 71 chevy, it says 80,XXX but i have no history on it. However, my 91 dodge d250 cummins has 257K and nothing but oil changes, a tstat and a belt as far as repairs go.

Re: Actual miles on your truck
Come to think about it...recently my truck has logged more miles on the back of fine69's hauler than on the highway.

Re: Actual miles on your truck
'67 swb stepper - 49,778.9 original miles. My granddad bought new, drove to where he parked his cattle hauler until he passed in '76. My grandmother used it to take trash to the dump. My dad and I used it to roof houses in the 80's and put 1/2 the miles on it.

Re: Actual miles on your truck
I bought this 1970 CST in 1990 for the tidy sum of $300.00 with 108,000 miles on the meter (you probably would have passed it up). This truck has been my only vehicle since 1991 with a logbook documenting all significant work done with the date and mileage. I have logged a little over 263,000 in the 20 years since putting it back on the road for a grand total of 371,000 all on the original odometer. This spring I repaired some minor rust spots and sent it to the paint shop for some new color.......Capt. Roger
