Utility buckets or standard buckets?
The Blazer that i just bought has Utility buckets in it. My Jimmy has the standard buckets in it.
What do you all prefer? I kind of like the looks of the utility buckets, I like the metal back better than the plastic back. They also look a bit bigger. Has anyone had both?

Only Thing I Can Say For Sure Is That They Don't Make Reproduction
Covers For The Utility Buckets, So They Must Get Done Custom.

Question? Since the utility buckets are wider, can you still use a console?
71swb4x4, I think you should keep the utility buckets and sell the others to me, what do ya think?

I would go measure to see if they work with a console but the Blazer is not at my house. That's a great question though, I didn't think about that. Craig, I didn't realize you couldn't get stock covers for the utility buckets, I may end up going with the standard buckets.

I've seen several pictures of them with the console. Is the "seat" portion really wider? I thought it was just the backs that were wider, lower and more square.

Yeah the bottom is wider too. They are more comfortable (to me). The seats in mine are in the stock hole locations and the console fits in like a glove.

Cool, thanks RG. How can you tell if your Blazer/Jimmy came with utility or bucket seats? Should there be a code on the glove box label for either?

71Jimmy, I looked through my old posts and found one where I had listed the label options on my Jimmy (someone painted the label in my Blazer ), one was utility seats but I didn't list a code, I'll have to look at the label again.

Just checked my 70 K5. It shows 4AN3AB Heavy Duty Aux Seat, that's the front passenger seat. Mine has util buckets, so I guess Heavy Duty = util buckets.
