Looking for 71 grill surround

Before I have mine polished and a couple of dings taken out I thought I would see if anyone has a NOS grill surround they want to get rid of. Of course the price for a NOS one may be more than I'm expecting.

I don't really want a repro because I don't want to deal with the fitment issues Ive heard so much about.

I have got one, not hanging on the garage wall but true old NOS in the box GM P/N 3990701. Still has the dealers invoice taped to the box showing $138... cash paid in full, not by me but has been in my collection since 98. I am headed to Marysville, WA. on Saturday the 22nd. of this month to pick up a truck and I could hand deliver it to you in Monroe for $600... Lmk, Cb

Your local chevy dealer is going to be about the cheapest place to get one. Saves a bundle on shiping. I got one about a month ago through my mechanics Id # for $495.00

You should postpone your trip till the 29th and stop by for the mini board get together, BBQ and LonghornMan send off.

Thanks for the quote on the grill. Its a little more than I want to spend.

If I wasnt planning on keeping this one pretty original I would put one of my 68 nose's on the darn thing. Way cheaper than putting 71 stuff on.

Thanks for all the responses fellas...Im gonna have to sit on this one for a bit.

Re: Looking for 71 grill surround

You can still get a new NOS from the Chevy dealers.
I have never had any luck polishing old grills. You have to remove the anodizing and then you are left with bare aluminum that corrodes immediately, so they would have to be coated with something to protect them. I have tried a lot of things, with no sucess.

The polisher is going to strip it, repair the dings and polish it up. Then have it powder coated clear. Now I need the oem part number to see if they have em here at the Bellevue Chevy dealership. I work on all their copiers and printers...wonder if they would give me a decent price on a new one?

Re: Looking for 71 grill surround

I have 2 NOS 71-72 Grills shells in stock. Retail on them is $660.00.
One of the ones that I have has a small ding in it from handling. I would let it go for $449.95 and the undammaged one is $559.95. Let me know if you are interested. WES

Yeah looking for Chev. The one I have isnt too bad, it has a couple of dings and its been painted black. I hadnt really been paying attention to the cost of these things, so I may just end up sticking with mine. Let me know what you're asking for yours.

Re: Looking for 71 grill surround

Wes's is alot closer. I really dont want to ship the grill and get it all smashed up. Buy close to home.
