5 lug conversion question
Hello,
I searched the FAQ's, but I could not find the information Where should I go for the rear 5 lug conversion? I need the axles and drum brakes. Also, I need to get the front setup as well...who do you guys recommend for this? What five lug wheel can I run for a short while? For example: s-10, 88-98 1500? Thanks, David |

71, 5 lug rear will bolt right in. That is what mine had done before I got it. If you don't want to change out the rear diff. Check around your local machine shops. Take the your axles and drums and have them drilled for the 5 on 5 lug pattern. The 6 lug axle flanges have enough metal to compensate for the extra holes.
As for wheels, Somebody posted a list of what cars and trucks use this bolt pattern. so check around the forums you might find it. I do know, a S10 wheel won't fit they are 5 on 4 3/4. |

The older S-10 wheels won't fit. The newer S-10 wheels are 5 on 5 I believe (I know they are bigger than the 5 on 4 3/4)

None will stock....the axle isnt as wide as the 70+ rear axles.They could be made to work,its just not a slide in,bolt down and go process,though

one guy said the 73-79 will bolt right in and anything older will be 3/4in longer but will work is this false?
