Small 700r4 wiring question
I'm about to finish installing my 700r4 transmission and I'v run into a small problem. I used the Bowtie Overdrives lock-up kit, and this kit comes with a new 4th gear pressure switch. The instructions tells me to replace my old one with the new. The problem is, that I can't seem to find the old pressure switch. I'm including a picture of my old wiring, a picture from the manual and also a few pictures of my attempt to solve the new wiring. Is this correct? Or maybe anyone knows if the pressure switch is located somewhere else? Thank you!!

You have it in the right position. That is the 4th gear clutch switch. The plug just to the left in the 3rd picture is for 4-3 downshift.

Is that tranny rebuilt? While you have that cover off, did you look into the 1-2 accumulator housing to make sure that spring inside is not broke? That's the housing in the lower right corner of picture 3. That spring inside has a bad habit of breaking. Have you did any other mods to it?

Thanks for the respons. No, I'v done no modifications to the transmission. It comes from a -86 Camaro, and I took the car for a ride before the seller removed it from his car. Everything seemed fine and it shifted smoothly. Could be that the previous owner of the Camaro may have rebuilt it, but I don't know. What puzzels me is that I can't find the pressure switch described, but as I understand there were several options on wiring in these cases.

Put in a high pressure boost valve in the pump as long as you at it. It's only a snapring to change & that is THE KEY to long 700r4 life. It's the best $33 you'll ever spend.
