rally rims
Just picked these up today to see what they look like. I'm going to be replacing the fronts with some 6.5" van rally wheels with 225/70/15, and the rears with some 295 drag radials just for street use. Then i have some light weight rims for the strip!!!! What do you guys think...

Re: rally rims
I always loved the rallys.....sorry to go off topic but what water pump (short or long) are you running? if it is the long pump is there room for a electric fan? Im doing a big block swap in my 68 and want to run the serp belt conversion kit but it uses the long pump and my front clip is off (and i dont have a four core yet) to get a measurement. any pics or help would be awesome! BTW....nice truck!

Re: rally rims
The original color was usually magenta.
Sort of a dark shade of silver. Thats the color I painted mine.

Re: rally rims
It looks like they do bolt on the original cap. Not sure where you can get them. I bought these off craigslist from a board member

IMPO - Ralley wheels should only be painted argent, I just don't think the wheels look right when they are painted another color. But, to each his own. That is a mighty fine looking truck!

I like the Centerlines better myself. Not a fan of the Rallye wheel.

Re: rally rims
I'd keep the wheels silver on your truck. It's rare to see body colored rallies look "right".
They're gonna look pretty sweet with the 295's on the back. Can't wait to see it.

Re: rally rims
Screw the ralleys.......let's talk about your hood!!! LOL
I see it's pinned on so it must be glass. What brand is it and where did you get it? I looked around for a stock glass hood for my truck and found one down in FL for about $700 plus about $500 in shipping. I called and asked why the shipping was so high. They said it had to go freight. I said I understand but it's still "glass"!!!!!! I'd love to find a stock shaped 67-68 fiberglass lift off hood for my truck someday. Thanks for any info!!! |

Re: rally rims
The fronts that are on it now are 255/70's and the rears are 275/60's.

Re: rally rims
I dont think it is odd^^, the tires are pretty close to the same OD and it makes it so the front tires are in line with the rears, ya know like if you drive through water on a parking lot? they kinda line up, if you had 60 series on the front also, you wouldnt have the same rake and also the front would stick out just a little more than the rear. At least that is how I see it.
