Unhappy I think she's a basket case :(

College buddy of mine gave me a 69 GMC LWB, complete running truck, but I think she's shot.

The bad:

307/3 on the tree...120k miles
drum/drum
power nothing
wood bed....toast
non air cab....whole bottom is toast doors are sagging
door bottoms......rotten
fender bottoms....rotten
gas tank...small leak
frame....rotten above rear axle
wood bed......toast
window regs .....tied up
1 broken leaf
rear step bumper....rotten
grill dinged multiple places
steering wheel...toast
tailgate....bottom is rotten....heavily dented, but functional

The good:

3.73 leaf spring rear
good glass
5 original 15x5 6 lug wheels with the original caps (marginal condition)
good trans as far as I can tell
Looks to be a straight CHEVY turn signal front bumper (bad paint)
Original am radio.....not sure if it works
green interior....including
visors
ashtray
decent seat...seams are busted but foam is good, doesn't appear original
low hump
locks all work well off of single key
good paintable steel door panels
radiator
seat belts

Anyone think I'm stoned to just part this thing out and say goodbye?

Send it down the road in peices. Way too much effort to save it but maybe her organs can be donated to save some others!

bad body, bad frame, bad motor...

Uh the only thing good about it was the price.. you don't sound like you want to fixer up, so why not part it out... I can speak for myself only, but my time, energy, and hard earned $$$ are very valuable to me... so why undertake a project that you don't really want to unless, your Buddy gave it to you with the hopes of you ressurrecting it... and I won't even touch that one...

Wish i got a deal like that... but then i don't have the place for a parts truck, wait I don't even have the room for my truck... but i'm keeping it...

Sounds like a typical Ohio truck to me.
I say part that sucker out.
The hood is the only salvagable body panels isn't it?

Longhorn....you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about Anybody need a surface rusted but good hood? LOL Honestly I'd love nothing more than to restore it, especially since my buddy was hoping I could resurrect it. It could be done, but at a huge financial loss. I could put $8,000 in it and end up with a $3000 truck. There's MUCH better raw material out there than this old gal.....It's sad, but true. The 307 runs but she's way overdue for a set of bearings. Still might keep it and play with it....I have a great 300HP recipe for it. Would make one heck of an s-10 motor.
