What did you get done? 07/26/09

I am going to start this really early because I am out of ton, and so is Bob. Didn't want you guy to miss a chance to how your stuff.

I am in Dallas this weekend delivering my 77 to my buddy Roger's new shopo. He and Keith (n2billet) have agreed to do the A.R.T. suspension upgrade for me. This will allow the bed to be removed and document the process much better. I will post my pics later.

What did you get done?

We had a great time yesterday!

We had folks from Kentucky, Ohio, Kansas City Missouri and North Carolina yesterday. Met after the meet at a local Mexican Restaurant and had some more good food. Pics and a vid in my sig below.

The minivan broke down with a bad battery and cable. Powerdriver and curley86 fixed it in the parking lot for me!! - Thanks guys!

Re: What did you get done? 07/26/09

Took my truck out to local shriners show, nice turnout, about 150 vehicles, I did not enter, just kind of hungout with father in law and wifes uncle, they had their 65 falcons entered. I should have entered my truck, probably would have got an award.
Then did some yard work, taking it easy, the last 2 weeks have been non stop. Gonna sit down and watch the race today and nothing else.

Re: What did you get done? 07/26/09

Finished up welding and bracing the cracked frame on a friends 85. It had to be the worst one I've ever seen. The truck drives like a Cadillac now.

Went to lay my brand new windshield on a foam pad in the back of my truck and it broke in half. There must have been a small crack or something on one of the edges. The windshield literally folded over on one end. Fortunately the guy that ordered it for me was standing there when it happened. He buys a lot of glass from this one company, said he would get me a new one Monday. The windshield has been sitting in his shop for 3 weeks, guess I should have picked it up sooner. LOL.

Spent too much money online as usual. LOL

That's what I've been saying since I fixed my pinion angle.

Re: What did you get done? 07/26/09

I finally fixed my pinion angle since I blew up my rear end. The truck drives unbelievably smooth now. Also changed oil and filter and the fuel filter. I replaced a completely worn rear tire with a better one. I still have quite a bit to do before I leave for Jersey this weekend.

Forgot all about the Garlic Festival. Spent my weekend packing to fly out to the USS Reagan to join VFA-25 tomm night. Originally had orders to a squadron that deployed with the marines and not on the boat but Uncle Sam needed me there.

Re: What did you get done? 07/26/09

I actually got some truck stuff done this weekend, it's been a while since I've had time to do some work myself. I got the front of mycrew cab lowered a little more, new tires installed, sport bumper installed too. I think I might need to lower the back another inch I think it might have just a bit too much rake.

I got the front springs swapped out in my k5 too, now I just need the exhaust redone and I'll be able to drive it a little more.

Re: What did you get done? 07/26/09

Saturday i got my truck out of storage and gave it a service, new oil and filter, wrapped the exhaust with insulation where it goes past the starter and fuel lines, was getting real hot in there.

When I took it for it's safety check the guy told me to grease the outer tie rod on the left side, so I have a look at it and found the nut was only finger tight, so nipped that up and greased all the grease points.

Now she is ready to rock, got a 600 mile trip next week end to the biggest swap meet in the country at the Manfield race track

Well I have the pleasure of living in the "Garlic Capitol of the World" and I'll tell you I have never missed a festival in 15 years. It seems as if every year just get better. I attended Saturday and Sunday the food is just great I love the pesto and tri-tip plate. It is one of the biggest food festival in the world. Other than that I did clean out the garage to make room for a project that will be coming home soon.

Re: What did you get done? 07/26/09

Did a bunch of work to my '73 C10 last week
-swapped in a tilt column
-cut the old bumper off (was welded to the frame)
-finished LS1/4L60E swap
-dropped it 5/6

finally drove it around the block for the first time in 8 months so i'm stoked.
