Gas Tank Replacement
When looking for a new in cab tank I usuall see something like with EEC or Without EEC. I may have the initials wrong but I hope I am close.
I have a 68 Chevy C10 Stepside with a 327 in it. What is the difference in the EEC and I think it is a vent tube. My current tank doesn't have a vent tube. Should I buy one with or without or does it matter ? Thanks You guys have been real helpful ! Charlie ceoliver@fuse.net 68 Camaro BB RS/SS |

Charles,
If you need to replace your stock tank and you want to stay with a 'Factory Stock' setup, you should replace it with the proper 'Factory' tank. Your truck will need the 'non-EEC' tank. |

A EEC ( Evaporative Emission Control ) tank will have a vent line on passenger side of tank to connect EEC vapor line to, fuel sender, & a fuel fill neck. Non-EEC tanks do not have a vent line only a fuel sending unit and filler neck.

Wasn't the EEC only on the 71/72 trucks? (not counting the crazy California trucks...they probably had catilitic converters on them)
