Power steering hose missmatch

Need some help with my power steering hoses. I have a 1976 steering box on my 72 C-10 & a pump from a 84 with the 16MMx1.5 fitting. The steering box uses a 11/16-18 flare fitting on the pressure side & a 5/8-18 flare fitting on the return line. I tried to get a hose made up at NAPA with this combo & they didn't have the right fittings. Any idea where I can get them ? I really don't want to go with the AN type adapter fittings.
Thanks in advance guys !

You can change the fitting on the pump where the line screws in if you have a older flare fitting pump laying around

That sounds like a good way to resolve the problem...is the older fitting on the pumps a direct swap on the 1980 up pumps ? Anyone have one laying around I can buy /

Re: Power steering hose missmatch

someone on another thread was saying you can buy adapter fittings, from metric o ring style to flare and vise versa at napa or other auto parts stores, maybe online? just found this for you:http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=242458 hope this helps, but you may need the fitting that screws into your pump, and from what I can tell you may just have to get one from an old pump, hit the wrecking yard....good luck

Re: Power steering hose missmatch

Thanks for the help Jim. I googled the adapters ( Weatherhead 1446 & Gates G49702-1606 )....they are both no longer avail. so I will search for the early style pump connector off a pump and change it so a stock hose for a 72 will fit as Texas Firefighter stated & be done with it.

I'm not sure but I think I was pretty clear As to change the fitting and your problem is solved I didn't mention the wrench size but that can be determined fairly easy

Thank You Jeff....Do you have one of the early fittings off a pump that you would be willing to part with ?
