Temperature Sender Question...
I have a 72 c10 w/ 350...My sending unit has always read pegged to HOT...I disconnected my green sender wire and ground it to the block...Guage then read COLD...My sender did have sealant tape so I am in the process of getting that removed...Am I on the right track and any suggestions?

Re: Temperature Sender Question...
Check the sending unt to see if it's the right one. Some trucks had an idiot light others had a guage, the sending units are different.

Re: Temperature Sender Question...
So I get the sealant cleaned off the sender and reinstalled...At this point, the gauge still reads COLD from being grounded out earlier...I start up the truck...No movement of needle (I didnt let it run long enough to warm up)...Start it back up 10 min later and needle is pegged back to HOT...Any ideas? Start with new sending unit?

Re: Temperature Sender Question...
Get a new sending unit. They are not that expensive.
