Yes, that's Billie Jean. She likes Dad's socks a lot more than wrenches right now.

My Lab does the same thing. You gotta have a shop dog. Nice truck btw. I love that particular year and style. That's gonna be my next one.

Re: 1961 Indian

Finished the 73-87 front clip suspension conversion. But I'm picking up a donor truck next week and ditching this X style frame.

Re: 1961 Indian

Looks like a good start
What's the plan on getting rid of the X part of the frame.
any plans to run a pontiac to make it a true indian(just a thought)
T
ps it looks like a 60 unless the front sheet metals been changed
the first digit in your SN will tell the story.
Not trying to a d!@k about it,that's just what we see in the pic.

Re: 1961 Indian

Got my frame back today from American Stripping Company in Sacramento. They blasted it and set it in primer. I'll be spraying it this weekend with Eastwood's Chassis Black. Not powder coating it because I still need to do the rear notch and match the paint on the frame.

'73-'87 front crossmember installed.

Re: 1961 Indian

Alright, a couple of updates on the Indian.

Got my rearend back from River City Differential last week. New Eaton posi installed with the exisiting 373's and axles redrilled to 5x5. The whole housing was soaked in the hot tank and she's like new again.

Eric, AKA "Superflysteiny", hooked a brother up with the install of the rear notch from KP Components. I now owe him weekly lawn mowings and a carwash for the next 18 months. Thank you for a job well done!

I should get the Impala SS rear disc conversion plates from CaptainFab by tomorrow. Hopefully will get the rear rolling by next week.

Once it's a roller I need you to bring it back so I can install the gas tank. The frame will need to be notched for the tank spout. Looks great

Re: 1961 Indian

Nice work so far. What did that axle work set you back? I am trying to figure out what to do with my axle setup. Ive been looking for a doner rearend from a 71-87 but no luck so far. My current six lug is in good shape with a 373 setup non-posi but I need 5 lug. Any thoughts?

$900 - and that included the chrome diff cover bolts! I didn't want to hassle with cutting axle tubes from a donor for the same track width.
