Which one?
Well had a 68 GMC all done up, sold it due to kids, storage etc....
Been looking for awhile and love this site-especially the pics of interiors, steering wheels, colors etc. I found a 71 big block fatory ac wood bed lwb, but i live in canada and it is in the US and they seller cannot fax the titlte to tthe border for clearance so i have to make two trips (one trip 8 hours each way and the 2nd 2 hours) the engine has low oil pressure and usual rust. 2nd is a 68 short 4x4 but it is frankentruck with no rust through, but a 85 350 and 80's diferentials 3rd is a rust free 43000 mile truck but the guy just primered some if it to paint but has to sell I want a bigblock wood bed truck but can always add that later prices are all under 4500 and only be driven in summer. I ahve always liked factiry built Big Blocks with AC. I gues you need to decide which truck long term will make you happy.

ho70 I just brought a short stepper into Canada in Oct.
I was lucky and had a very cooperative seller that worked with me to get the required paperwork not only faxed to the border ahead of time but also had the Title document notarized and even got me a notarized lien release. Who would of guessed a 42 year old vehicle would have a lien registered against it. If the owner isn't willing to work with you then I would walk away from the first one. The other issue is Canada customs will want to see the manufacturers compliance label on the drivers door. (the one that says "this vehicle meets all applicable safety standards in effect on the date of manufacture") Customs did want to see it on mine and it is on the "form one" checklist that you need to get the vehicle registered with transport Canada. I'm not sure what would have happened if it wasn't there? So maybe franken truck may be an issue? Or even #3 if it has been painted over. Not trying to discourage you just wanted to let you know how it worked for me. Good luck on your search.

Simple...you need this guys help above and beyond what he would be dealing with respective to a local 'walk in' buyer.
So...pay him for his effort, it will be worth it to you. Tell him that you'll kick in another $100 if he is willing to send/fax some paperwork on your behalf....heck, to me that worth maybe $200. I don't know what kind of a guy would walk away from that. My two bits. Coley Note: I've brought back (3) U.S trucks so far with no issues and I've done it all 3 ways....full shipping, partial shipping and pick-up and driving one back (from Florida). Buy the cheapest and easiest to get with a good body. You can always easily swap motors. Low milage really means nothing. My truck was a documented brush truck for a fire dept that was in service for 40 years and only had 46k miles. The motor blew not long after I bought it. It probably was idled alot to drive pumps and driven at low speeds contributing to engine wear. Low milage could also mean it sat alot or was parked long term and either situation will leave you chasing oil leaks from dry seals from the motor to rearend.
