Moving ALT from driver to passenger side
What factory alternator brackets do I need to move a factory driver side alternator to the passenger side? It is a 1970 big block with factory P/S and Alt on the drivers and A/C on the passenger. A/C is going away.
Thanks |

Re: Moving ALT from driver to passenger side
I used one off a Camaro. It's closer to the motor and doesn't look as out of place as the stock one does on the driver side.

As long as you use a long pump.

I want to move the Alt to the driver's side above the power steering. I will be adding the aftermarket A/C compressor to the passenger side where the alternator is now (to avoid running those long compressor lines across the engine). Here's a picture of my setup.

I might be looking at the same situation as you, (aftermarket AC pump on the right side), in the future. I've never seen a left side mount alt bracket for a long water pump though.
