Hubcap Question
I have a 1968 Chevy SWB Stepside C10 that my grandfather bought brand new. I still have the original hub caps that came on it but one of them does not match the others. The truck was passed down to my dad then to me and I asked my dad about the hub cap once before. He said as far as he could remember it's always had that hub cap on it. I was hoping that one of you guys might know what the hub cap is from. I took a picture of it (on the right), with one of the other 3.

It appears to be the correct hubcap but it has been hammered down by hitting something. They stood proud of the wheels so were the first thing that got hit.
If the truck was a CST the caps will be polished stainless under that white paint. If the truck was a standard model it would have had painted silver, black and red that looks similar to the "bright" caps shown but not nearly as shiny.

I thought that it could be an original hub cap but the thing that made me think differently are the lines of it (where blue arrows are pointing). It's just a standard C10 that came with the hub caps painted silver. If it is one of the originals I have no clue how it got dented in, then reshaped in the form it's in. I guess my grandfather's the only one who knows the answer to that but since he died before I was born I never got the chance to ask. Plus, anyone know where I could get some baby moon's like the ones that are on the 70 Camaro in the pic?

Do you know if those are baby moons or the Chevy caps that are baby moons with a bowtie stamped in the center?I always thought Chevy did a cool ting with those caps.They came on the cheaper models in and around`70.Wheel Vintiques sells baby moons.Just make sure they sell you ones for the wheels you have.They make a couple different steelie styles that should mount same as factory dog dishes.

Those are the original baby moons that came on the early 70's Camaro's with the bowtie stamped in the middle. That was my dad's 2nd car. His first car was a Ford Maverick and he told me he was driving by the local Chevy dealership back in 1970 and saw that car sitting on the lot and pulled in and traded that Maverick for that Camaro SS with a 350. He was the original owner but he sold the car to his cousin several years later and his cousin later sold it to some other guy. It would be nice if I could some how track down that car. I have the original sales brochure that my dad got when he bought that car and it has a close up of those baby moons. Brothers Trucks has a set of just plain baby moons but I'm not sure if they are the kind that go over the center of the wheel or if they are the kind that fit in the center. The picture of them looks like the kind that go over the center, which is what I wanted to put on the '68 when I fix it up, just would be nice if they had the bowtie stamped in the middle.http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodinfo.asp?number=1009

yeah it does have different contours on the cap even though it smashed a lil bit, it does look different. an that camaro is *****'n!!
