New guy with a good story
Recently, the wife and I decided that we needed a new gas grill. So we decided to take my 1967 c30 flatbed. My truck is an unrestored bully with original paint and is in perfect running order except for the tranny kicks out of second gear.
While driving to the home depot my wife says "I hope nobody sees me riding in this pos". I told her that I get comments on how cool my truck is everywhere I go. That I can't go to the gas station without somebody coming up and commenting on how much they like my truck. Her reply was that she did not believe it. So we purchase a fully assembled grill and I pulled the truck up to the doors of the store to load. I had her wait in the truck while I went back inside to get the grill. When I came outside there was a small group of guys talking to the wife. While shaking her head in disbelief, she informs me that these guys love my truck. My comment to her was a simple "Yes dear, I know" |

Re: New guy with a good story
Some previous owner installed the side markers. It's hard to see but these lights are surface mounted and not flush like the originals.

Re: New guy with a good story
Nice truck! It is funny...when I brought mine home and gave my wife for the first time... I asked her what she thought... She said, well as long as you're happy and the kids seem to like it... I pressed, what about you? She said, well, I'm a woman... It's just an old truck... Funny... EVERY time I take it out... I get asked (as I'm sure all of you do)... Is it for sale? . Never gets old.

Re: New guy with a good story
I haven't seen to many six cylinders in these trucks, but i have never seen a pulley like that on the power steering on any motor......

Re: New guy with a good story
Yup, never gets old... was out in the 70 with the wife a couple weeks ago and had a guy pull up next to us in traffic and ask if it was for sale.
gas station comments are the norm. It was funny when a guy in a dually dodge pulled up next to us at a light and asked if we (me and the wife) wanted to sell, my wife said "Ooh no way" That might have something to do with the fact that I have everything from the doors forward waiting for paint and a new motor ready to drop... all sitting in the garage and back padio. |

Re: New guy with a good story
My wife is the same way, part of me doesn't care cause she would just be telling me its time to go, the other part wants to share the experience with her
