Solo hard top removal, any ideas?
What ideas have you guys used to get your hard top off and on without killing yourself?
I have a big tree I could park under, and use a comealong to winch the top off, but the donor blazer dudn't run to park under it I got the white top off by lifting the top, shoving 2x4's underneath it, strapping the rear together, and lifting from the inside, moving it over. I would use the same procedure for this scenario, but there is a height difference. I cant let the air out of thetires, seating the beads is a joke, and using jackstands is questionable on soft dirt, even with support from a 4x12. well what i used to do when i put a shell on my 3/4 for the winter,,nd remove it for the summer..i built a stand out of scrap 2xs then one person can remove it and install it...i made it level with the bed,,and just got under it to slide it on and off,,thenn i used the clamps to hold it down in case of the wind...i know its different,,but it should work the same for your application...
