That's almost the same cam/set up I'm runnin. I chose AFR heads for my rig. Can't wait to hear it rumble. AFR has dyno sheets around the 475 hp mark with that setup. Good choices there IMO.

Are you running a flat tappet cam? I'm assuming so based on the block. Why not a roller cam to go with all of the other goodness you've assembled? Not knocking your set up, just curious.

I figured i will run this flat tappet until i get tired of it. I will put a roller cam in when the engine comes out of the truck for a freshen up.

We're thinking around 440 hp and close to 500 ft lbs.

What does it cost (if I might ask) up there in Illinois to have the mains honed for the studs?

Line boring?
have you measured the bores on the main bearing saddles? measure them with the bolts torqued up and then with the studs , if there is a difference then get it line bored, more than likely there will be no difference.

Re: The 383 stroker so far for my 69 C20
The mains were twisted from the studs, no line boring, but a line hone was recommended. Only ran me 100 bucks.
