stepside vs fleetside
I am converting my longbed fleetside to a shortbed. I am confused as to what bed to use, a stepside which I have already or to a fleetside. Which bed do you guys think looks the best?
Any input is appreciated. |

Stepsides definately have a meaner and more classic look to them IMO. I am going to cut down the LWB 67 I have , into a shorty stepside for the wife.

I have to agree with Randy and dubie on this one. The stepsides have a meaner looking stance to them.

depends on what you're going for... the sleek low look i think is killer only for fleetsides (only seen a couple low steps) but for classic flair the step is pretty tight.

See here you guys go with the step or the fleet. I have been racking my brain for months trying to decide what bed to put on my 67 or 72 < have not decided on the front clip yet >
 . It is a 4X4 short bed. The thing I feel that bites, is that I like the way both beds look. I have two short fleet bed, I am trying to sell one and if I keep reading post like this I will have another one for sale. Mabe I will have to look into getting a step bed.

I'd have to vote fleet, but I am a fan of the upper and lower trim 2 tone trucks. The steps are pretty damn cool too though.

STEPSIDE!!!(Especially on a 4x4). Just use the 67-72 style, don't put on a later style bed. That ruins the whole "classic" look IMO.
I sold a rust/dent free fleetside in favor of a stepside thats going to take more bodywork to fix. Why? Because stepsides are hands down better looking (again IMO)

I guess I'll be in the minority here, but I like fleetsides. I have just never seen a stepside that I loved.

Mudder67, not trying to bug but could you post a brighter pic of your truck. That one is a little dark. Is that the same truck on the LMC cover? Please
See what I said about the decision making? You can not go wrong eather way.:p This is going to drive me crazy till I get a bed on the truck. I guess I need to print out a copy of both of these trucks and post them on the work bench. Mabe after looking at them for a while I will decide.  Both of those trucks are beautiful, One day the one I'm building for my son and I will be as beautiful. "one day"

if the step beds look so much better than the fleet beds than why are they so much cheaper? I like them both but I would rather have a fleet bed for the extra room

I have to vote fleetside, baby!!!
I like the stepsides too, but like chevyguy said, "i've never seen a step side that I loved" This goes for any style/year of truck.....fleetsides have a slight edge over steps, IMO, of course Jason
