Re: How do I remove the dash
You remove the bolts from IIRC the bottom of the dash and there might be a screw in the side. Then it pops out. There's almost like spring clips on the front where it hooks into the dash frame. I haven't looked at mine in awhile, it's in peices, but it unbolts then pops off.
One thing you might want to get a price on is having an upholstery shop put a new skin and padding on. Might be cheaper than buying one new and should look just as good. I had one of those covers on and it was ok, but in the long run it just wasn't as good.

Re: How do I remove the dash
Remove the instrument panel bezel, 4 bolt/screws along the bottom edge (above ashtray area and glove box) and one phillips screw on the passenger edge where the door closes up on it. Only thing then is the flexible duct on the far passenger side vent, slides right off.
If you replace it you'll have to transfer the trim, just some speed nuts on the back side. Might be worth having a trim shop look at once you get it removed, but I have no personal experience trying to get one recovered, unlike seats and headliners. |
