Got my trans rebuilt, and got prolems!

I recently got my chevy 350 trans rebuilt.. With a shift kit, idk what kind of kit!

My truck feels like it's bogging down now, my
Trans fluid is good, and I have the cooler lines on right! What else could be wrong?!

I got a new detent cable(kick down) and it won't pull .. Could it be pulled all the way already? Causing the bogging problem? Or whAt? How do you install this cable? I have the rod in the trans actually about an Inch or so out of the tranny, then the cable hooked on, and bolted down.

Sounds like something didn't go back together right in the trans, The rod shouldn't be sticking out of the hole. There should be spring tension on the rod pulling it back in.

To replace the cable you would remove the old cable housing retaining screw, Pull the housing out then grab the inner cable wire. Pull the wire until the rod comes up out of the trans you'll feel the spring tension, Then grab the rod with needle nose pliers to hold it up out of the trans, Now un-hook the old cable wire from the rod and install the new cable wire. Grab the new cable wire then release the needle nose pliers from the rod and you'll feel the spring tension pull the rod and new cable wire into the trans.

Once the cable is installed there's a adjustment at the carb bracket that must be made for proper shifting, Do you know of this adjustment ?

The governor springs may be too light which will make the transmission shift too early and not kick down. Try some stiffer springs. It's a five minute job to change them.
