headers
what headers do i need for my 70 c-10 2wd v8 ??anyone have a part number for a cheep header that WILL CLEAR MY CLUTCH LINKAGE ?? im tired of tryin used ones that hit the linkage or the lower a frame

I just ordered #69892 Hedman Hedders. Won't know if they'll fit for a few weeks.

Might do better if we knew a few things.
Big block or small block? Factory V8 or converted I6? Are the engine stands in the forward V8 position? Is the clutch linkage V8? What are you using that hits?

All I know is the rear tube has to drop down vertical,if not angled slightly forward. You may still have a clearance issue going under,but passing in front is the main issue. The headers that have a vertical tube generally have a sharp bend at the bottom taking the tube straight back. The only issue going under,with some headers,will be the lower z-bar arm if it's in the path of the tube. I have had to cut that arm off and re-weld to one side. It's no big deal. Others have move the frame mount rearward for headers that dropped down too far back to clear the tube.

I made a custom Z-bar by cutting it in three equal sections.Then moved the center section reward to clear the #7 header tube.I moved it back to where the front of the center section was lined up with the back of the two outer sections.Cut some 3/16 plate and welded it up.Now it looks like a rod journal on a crank shaft and it cleared the primary tube.I'm not using it anymore,I'll find it and post a pic

The Sanderson C11 header is the cleanest,but the Headman 69640 will work as well just not as pretty
