blazer 4x4 to 2x4
hi everyone. so what does it take to go from a 4x4 blazer to a 2x4 blazer? is it a matter of changing front end parts from an 2x4 donor to the 4x4? How much problem can this be?

Well, I am researching this now and if you just want to change over the front end then you are correct. Get a donor and they will swap. The rearend is where I am thinking will be more work. I would want to get rid of the leaf springs there and go with a coil set up. That is a lot more work though. Crossmembers will have to be changed out etc.

i thought it could not add a original coil rear-end due to the way the frame is straiten oout in the rear.........coil over 4 link setup?

Aside from suspension components the front bumper mounts are different between 2 & 4WD. I found this out when trying to order brackets for my 4WD Blazer. If you go ahead with your project and don't need the front outer bumper brackets I would be interested in them.
Good luck and thanks!
