Bed Mats, Old Question?

I've searched high & low for a rubber bed mat that would "Fit" my 68 GMC short bed fleetside and have only found a company that sells over-sized rectangular 3/8 thick mat you have to cut. Does anybody Know of a "Made to Fit" rubber bed mat 3/8" thick or thicker available and from where?

Thanks Lee

Re: Bed Mats, Old Question?

A "Made to Fit" rubber bed mat for this vintage is no longer made. I have searched and searched. The closest I could find is ProTecta brand part number LRV-6642D, I got from Summit Racing $70 bucks. This is a 73 up, and only available in the long bed version, cut to fit for a short bed. The one issue with this mat is the wheel houses of 73 up are about 4 inches longer than the 67-72 so there will be a gap. When cutting to fit I split the difference so there was only a two inch gap fore and aft of the wheel houses. It fits nicely between the bed sides and between the wheel houses. Not a custom fit but better than no mat, at least for me.

Re: Bed Mats, Old Question?

I bought the Protecta 6721D.

It's an un-cut rectangle. I found it easy to cut with a little soap/water and a sharp box cutter.

It's thick and heavy weight. Very satisfied.

Re: Bed Mats, Old Question?

So Big dav you had to cut everything out including the wheel housings with this one? It's cheaper by the way ($109.00 + ship) than other 3/8 thick rectangular Cut to Fit mats I found.

Thanks Guys
