1972 longhorn canopy
I am a 1964-66 chevy truck guy that just kind of acquired a 1972 longhorn that needs alot of work, just wondering a few things.....It has a aluminum canopy thats painted to match the truck.....is it aftermarket or is it original ? Is there alot of these things around or a demand for them ?.....Before i start to do anything with this truck I need to figure out the direction i want to go and i just wanted a heads up. It's a plain truck no gauges..bench seat..wood floor in bed...tool box in bed...So I am cruising the board and thought I could learn something today....thanks

Re: 1972 longhorn canopy
no factory canopies, I've never seen one in person, and only 2 on here that weren't owner modified.
Got any photos of the longhorn? |

Re: 1972 longhorn canopy
I don't have any pictures right now but i will post some for sure.....The canopy wasn't modified for sure, so some place must have made them if not the dealer. I was thinking of building it as a tow unit for my 1966 pro street , I think it would be a good looking combo painted to match.

Re: 1972 longhorn canopy
Around the lower mainland, probably not too many looking for an older canopy. Is there a name or any #'s on it? Maybe do some research and see if it's a 70s canopy or just some 80s thing thrown on. Lets see some pics man...get a move on lol
I just bought a GMC Sierra Grande (longhorn) as well, but I'm parting it out since I don't have papers for it. Just looking over all cool options these trucks had...I wish I had original title for it. 402BBC, tach gauge, 9ft box, 1Ton truck..runs decent but deff needs a tune up. Body is fairly good condition though I suppose. Cab needs rockers and rear corners but floor looked mint from what I saw. I'll know better when I tear into it. If you did it up into a hauler that'd be cool for your pro street hauler.
