Rebirth of Clyde

After almost a year in paint and body, Clyde is 98% complete. Well, as far as the painter is concerned, I have tons of reassembly to do!

Re: Rebirth of Clyde

Thanks everyone! I have owned my truck since 1989. Got it as a farm fresh, blown 230/3 speed. Been through many variations and this is the best one and will stay like this.

Now to get the chrome polished and on, rubber matt in side and seats in. Hit a few shows and enjoy.

Thanks Norm, next time you in town we will come see ya!!

Re: Rebirth of Clyde

I feel a lot of colors of the newer paint jobs just don't have the authentic vintage look.
Your white is clean, crisp, and still looks period correct.

Re: Rebirth of Clyde

So I started a build thread. I know, a little bit late ( 30 years)

Anyway, look it over and let me know what you think.

Dont know about everyone else but your link takes me to narrowed rear axle thread not your build. I did find your build by clicking link in SIG but wanted to let you know.

Also just my .02 but I love the 4.8's. Uncle had 2 1500 silverado 2wds #1 had 4.8 and #2 had 5.3 and it really seemed the 4.8 truck ran better over all just less power when towing. I think its kinda the old 327 vs 350 story lol

Idk how that link got there but fixed now, thanks for letting me know!

Also my BIL had a 4.8 in a 2004 Silverado with 385,000 miles before he traded it off because the front axle (4x4) needed a bunch of work. I chose it cuz it was cheap! Only had 7k miles when I got it.

Do ya reckon that 4.8 is gonna be stout enough to carry around another coat of paint? Looking good, guy. You get to enjoy all over again!
