Found a 69 and 70

Norhtern OK Okay, a kid I know found a all original 69 c10, LWB, It has the protecto plate, 1 owner. It's a plain jane dark green, 6cyl, 250 with 125K on the clock. It was used in OKLA as a farm truck and it shows. It has the basic rust and then some up by the sunvisors. How does this happen? Is this from a leak in caulking above the windshield on the lip? It looks okay outside. The bed sides are dented. It even has the original title. Last tagged in 84. I don't know to save it or us it as parts.
The other truck is a copper with white top 70c10 LWb that looks like it started as a 6cy 3 on the tree truck and now has been converted to a floor shift, 327 2bbl. It has been sitting a while. Was told points and battery would get it going. Could score it for $400 maybe $300. I'll probably go for it. Hate to see the other one go to nothing though.

Well you got the 2 best years in my opinion to look at. If you have the space, a parts truck is always very nice to have. Good luck on which ever (or both) you decide on, and remember PICTURES....we like them.

Yup, you nailed it.
Seems the southern states dry out that caulking more and then it leaks causing the aformentioned rust.
There are patch panels for that now, but it is rather intesive panel replacement for the average dude.

Yeah, I've seen that replacement panel offerd for a little while now. I haven't heard of anyone replacing it. It doesn't look fun. the rust spot is not very big. but close to the sunvisor on the passenger side. If redoing the caulking what should be used?
