i just put a set on my 1972 2wd blazer with a 5.3/4l60e and the driver side header runs directly through the factory shifter linkage? i used the ece mounts that i believe they where designed around. i thought these where made to fit these trucks? i have an awful lot of money in these for this result. anyone else have this problem?

You'll need to use a Lokar or Kugel shift linkage. Either works great.

got a link to said linkage? in all the posts i read about these headers i must have missed that about the linkage. i probably wouldnt have used them if i had known that. they are very nice headers though.

I have the same headers and the same lokar linkage works like a champ....if you look by the master cilynder you can see a glimpse of it.

I don't know....but I'm thinking maybe your sbc is a little different then his 5.3L?

oh yeah they fit great. i just wasnt expecting the shift linkage to be affected as i hadnt read that before. thats why i started this thread so if someone was buying them they would know what to expect. i havent figured out which shift linkage to go with yet.

i did click the link the other day i am just wanting some installed pics? not quite seeing how this would be much different then the stock linkage.

I was refering to the link for the part #, . The stock linkage has a bulky connection on the frame. Whereas this goes straight from the column to the transmission.

lol..... about the part number. i went to there website and checked it out that looks like it will work. if not the cable one will. i really dont like cable shifters though.

I really like these headers and how tight they are to the frame, I just wish these were available with larger primaries. 1 5/8" might be ok for the smaller LS1's or even the LS2's with the cathedral port heads...but the 6.0's and 6.2's with the large rectangular port/larger valve heads need a little more...like 1 7/8" or at least 1 3/4", with a 3" collector.

Thats what I was thinking 68GMCustom, I'll be running a 6.2 and I want it to flow. I wanted to run dual 3" out to the rt side front rear tire. I'm wondering if it will be counterproductive to run the dual 3's if I'll be choking down at the primaries and collector. Love the Thorleys though.
